In humid conditions, polyurethanes can suffer from attack from hydrolysis.  Mainly a problem with Ester based polyurethanes, the material is degraded, sometimes rapidly, suffering cracks and fizzures and poor physical properties.  Anti-hydrolysis agents can be added but polymers based on Ether types tend to fair better.
