Term Description

CRACKING:

A sharp break or fissure in the elastomer surface. Often a result of excessive strain (eg due to rapid shrinkage), not to be confused with cuts created by knife trimming.  Cracks near flex points are to be avoided, as the cracks will almost certainly grow, leading to premature failure of a component.
