The correct component ratios have not been used, resulting in a material with poor mechanical properties.  A “Cheesy” consistency is often the first observation and the material can be picked away by use of thumbnails alone.  Lower than anticipated Shore Hardness is another indicator.  Poor material preparation, incorrect weighing or inaccurate scales or blocked material streams are possible causes.
